John Fuller Beckwith

Owner, Primary Therapist

John has been a physical therapist since 1993, after studying at the University of Connecticut. He has been a certified lymphedema therapist since 1998.

John has worked almost exclusively with lymphedema patients since 1998, primarily in outpatient rehab clinics, but also with hospital inpatient. He became Lymphology Association of North America (LANA)-certified in 2001, the first year of LANA eligibility. In 2002, he attended the inaugural English-language Advanced Lymphedema course at the Foeldi Clinic in Hinterzaarten, Germany, and has attended numerous other advanced training courses for certified lymphedema therapists. Over his career, he has been privileged to create or help build highly regarded lymphedema treatment programs at three different hospitals, in addition to developing embedded lymphedema programs in two hospital wound centers. He considers the mentorship and collaboration of the stellar wound nurses he has worked with to be one the highlights of his career.

He opened Turningpoint Lymphedema Clinic & Consulting in 2018, finally able to direct all aspects of care for his lymphedema patients.

John was a primary instructor with the Norton School of Lymphatic Therapy for 14 years, instructing more than 50 courses in different cities around the country. This experience has helped him to refine his knowledge and clinical skills in order to better serve patients. He is humbled to have had the privilege to instruct others in this specialty.

John has presented at numerous lymphedema and wound conferences, both regionally and nationally, and was a member of the Board of Directors of the LANA from 2009-2012.

Our Clinic

We are a small clinic in the Ophelia’s Building on Pearl Street in beautiful Eugene, Oregon. We have endeavored to create a professional, yet comfortable atmosphere that is a welcoming environment for all members of our diverse community.

There is an open and accessible feel to the clinic, yet our two treatment rooms are fully private, with sinks in each room. The treatment table for each room is a pneumatic hi-lo with a rating to 500 lbs.

We have a variety of artwork on the wall, most in some way related to the lymphatic system, some serious and some humorous (laughter is good for the lymph system, after all!)

There is a bariatric chair in our waiting area and one in each treatment room. Parking is generally right by the front door and we are right off of the main lobby on the first floor. Very close, and very accessible. We are handicap accessible, and there is room for medical transport to safely unload and pick up passengers who need extra assistance. There is an accessible restroom on the first floor off of the lobby.
